Harris Feinsod is an Associate Professor of English and Comparative Literary Studies at Northwestern University's Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on literary and cultural history of the US, Latin America, and the Atlantic world, with specializations in modernism, avant-garde movements, and transnational studies. Feinsod holds a Ph.D. (2011) and A.B. (2004) in Comparative Literature from Stanford and Brown universities.
His major works include The Poetry of the Americas (Oxford, 2017), examining mid-20th century inter-American poetic networks, and the forthcoming Into Steam: The Worlds of Maritime Modernism, exploring oceanic modernist cultures. He co-translated Oliverio Girondo's Decals (2018), which earned a National Translation Award nomination.
Feinsod's research appears in venues like American Literary History, Modernism/modernity, and The Baffler. He directs the Open Door Archive, a digital platform for recovering neglected American print cultures, and co-edits a global anthology of anticolonial thought. Active in academic administration, he has served as Director of Graduate Studies in Comparative Literary Studies (2018–22) and participates in Northwestern's Environmental Policy programs.
