Harriet Leigh Spence is the Academic Manager at the School of Drama and a specialist in tap dance and choreography. She teaches BA (Hons) Musical Theatre and holds guest lecturer roles at institutions including the University of Lincoln, The Urdang Academy, and PPA. She is a faculty member of the Tap Dance Festival UK and co-founder of Theatre Tap London, where she coaches at Pineapple Dance Studios. Based in the UK, she also serves as Assistant Principal of Go Dance Studios, directing the Aspiring Dancer Programme for young performers.
Her training includes studies at the Urdang Academy (London), Footprints Tap Dance Centre (Germany), and Off Jazz Dance Center (France), alongside extensive mentorship in NYC with luminaries like Barbara Duffy and Michelle Dorrance. She holds a Durham University degree in Modern Languages and certifications from ISTD and the American Tap Dance Foundation.
