Harpreet Seth is an Associate Professor of Architecture at Heriot-Watt University Dubai within the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society. With over 15 years of UAE teaching experience since joining Heriot-Watt in 2013, she established the Dubai campus Architecture program and teaches design studios while supervising postgraduate research.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) from Chandigarh College of Architecture
- Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi
- PhD in Urban Design from Wolverhampton University, UK
Dr. Seth's research examines the micro-macro relationship between built structures and urban environments, focusing on liveable sustainable communities in UAE, India and Africa. She investigates cultural identity dilution in global cities like Dubai, spirituality in architectural design (tangible/intangible elements), cognitive spaces in educational landscapes, and innovative project-based teaching approaches addressing the creative-profession dilemma between artistic fulfillment and media portrayal.
Her teaching excellence is recognized through:

- Heriot-Watt University Learning and Teaching Oscars
She actively supervises PhD/MSc students in built environment research while maintaining professional memberships with India's Council of Architecture and UAE's Association of Professional Interior Designers (APID). Beyond academia, she founded Urban Sketchers Dubai (exhibiting at Sikka Art Fair and Dubai Design Week) and teaches Himalayan Kriya Yoga for holistic living.
