Haris Kokkosis is a Professor of Urban Planning at the Department of Spatial Planning, Urban Planning and Regional Development Engineering, University of Thessaly, since 2002. His work focuses on the intersection of ecosystems, built environments, and interdisciplinary approaches to development planning.
- Education: Diploma in Architecture and Engineering (NTUA), Master in Urban Planning (California State University), PhD in Urban Planning and Spatial Planning (Cornell University)
His research spans tourism development, sustainable development, environmental planning, and island/coastal management. He has led/participated in over 50 national and international research programs, emphasizing interdisciplinary methodologies.
He has authored 12 books and over 50 scientific articles in internationally recognized journals, alongside numerous conference presentations. His consultancy roles include the European Commission, OECD, World Bank, FAO, and UNEP, with missions across Mediterranean and African countries.
