Dr. Haris Ali is an Associate Professor in the Division of Leukemia, Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation at City of Hope in Duarte, California. He also serves as the Section Leader of the Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN) Program since 2021. Dr. Ali is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology, with clinical expertise in hematologic malignancies and hematopoietic cell transplantation.
Dr. Ali received his medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan in 2001. He completed his internal medicine internship at the University of Maryland's Harbor Hospital Center, followed by residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was named chief resident. He then completed hematology/oncology fellowship at University of Texas Southwestern and hematopoietic cell transplantation fellowship at City of Hope.
Dr. Ali's research focuses on myeloproliferative neoplasms, particularly myelofibrosis, polycythemia vera, and essential thrombocythemia. His work explores novel targeted and immunotherapies for these conditions, as well as strategies for prevention and treatment of graft-versus-host disease following transplantation. His research has significant clinical implications for improving outcomes in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Analysis of Dr. Ali's recent publications (2021-2023) reveals a strong focus on myeloproliferative disorders, graft-versus-host disease, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
