Hari Tsoukas

Hari Tsoukas is a Distinguished Research Environment Professor of Organizational Behaviour at Warwick Business School (University of Warwick) on a part-time basis, and concurrently holds the Columbia Ship Management Chair in Strategic Management at the University of Cyprus. He maintains honorary professorships at the University of Sydney and University of Queensland. Previously, he held academic positions at Manchester Business School, University of Essex, University of Strathclyde, and ALBA Graduate Business School.

His research examines philosophical foundations of organizational phenomena through multiple lenses:

• Knowledge creation and sensemaking in complex organizations
• Practical reasoning and judgment in managerial contexts
• Ethical decision-making frameworks
• Process ontology and phenomenological approaches
• Neo-Aristotelian perspectives on organizational practice

Recent publications demonstrate his focus on ethics, tacit knowledge acquisition, and routine dynamics, contributing to organizational behavior, management theory, and philosophical approaches to organizations. His 2024-2025 articles specifically investigate ethical team development, embodied knowledge, and pragmatist perspectives on organizational routines.

Significant honors include:

• The Joanne Martin Trailblazer Award from AOM (2016)
• Cyprus Research Award for Distinguished Scholarship (2016)
• Honorary Membership in the European Group of Organization Studies (2016)

He serves as Academic Adviser to the Hellenic Association of Chief Executive Officers and co-founded the International Symposium on Process Organization Studies. As former Editor-in-Chief of Organization Studies (2003-2008), he shaped scholarly discourse. Currently, he teaches leadership and judgment courses in Warwick's Executive MBA, MSc Management, and Global Online MBA programs.
