معرفی
Hari Simha is a Professor and Area Head of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Guelph. His research focuses on damage and deformation of engineering alloys, finite element methods for fracture mechanics, structural integrity in nuclear and pipeline systems, and inverse methods in mechanics. He teaches undergraduate courses in Machine Design (ENGG 3280) and Interdisciplinary Design (ENGG 4220), as well as graduate-level Advanced Mechanics of Materials (ENGG 6090).
- Affiliation: University of Guelph, College of Engineering
- Research Areas: Fracture Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, Structural Integrity
Recent Research Trends:
His recent publications emphasize computational modeling of material failure (e.g., dual-phase steels, ceramics), advanced thermal systems (e.g., thermoelectric generators, nanoparticle-augmented thermal storage), and data-driven methods like dynamic mode decomposition for deformation analysis. Key subfields include fracture toughness estimation, phase change dynamics, and impact response of aerospace/structural materials.
Selected Publications (2020–2025):
- Nanoparticle-enhanced thermal energy storage systems (2021–2024)
- Dynamic mode decomposition for elastic-plastic solids (2022–2024)
- Fracture mechanics in dual-phase steels (2020–2025)
Teaching & Advising:
He is actively seeking a Master's student (restricted to permanent residents/Canadian citizens) for blast loading research on sandwich structures.
