Dr. Harald Heubaum is Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Global Energy and Climate Policy at SOAS University of London. He co-founded and serves as Deputy Director of the SOAS Centre for Sustainable Finance and is Deputy Academic Director of the University Network for Strengthening Macro-financial Resilience to Climate Change. He contributed to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report.
Research Interests:
- Organizational change in energy/climate governance
- Mainstreaming climate goals in finance
- Innovative climate finance mechanisms
- Economic valuation of adaptation
- Political economy of energy transitions
Projects include developing financial mechanisms for managing climate pollutants and quantifying the "triple dividend" of resilience-building interventions. Heubaum's recent publications address energy governance, climate finance, and gender equality in renewable sectors.
