Haralampos Geranios is a Royal Society University Research Fellow and Professor in Mathematics at the University of York. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Athens (2011). His research focuses on representation theory, cohomology of algebraic groups, quantum groups, symmetric groups, and Hecke algebras. He has supervised two current research students: Adam Higgins and Ross Ratcliffe. His work is supported by grants such as the Isaac Newton Institute Satellite Programme and the Royal Society-funded project on modular representation theory.
Education: PhD in Mathematics, University of Athens (2011).
Research Interests: Representation theory of algebraic groups, cohomology, quantum groups, symmetric groups, Hecke algebras, and related module structures. His work explores decomposition of Specht modules, endomorphism algebras, and invariant theory.
Grants/Projects: Active projects include the Isaac Newton Institute's Geometric and Categorical Lie Theory (2024–2025), and a Royal Society-funded modular representation theory project (2022–2026). He has collaborated internationally, including at EPFL in Switzerland and MIT.
Awards: Royal Society University Research Fellowship (current).
Labs/Teams: Member of the Algebra Research Group at the University of York.
