Hany Ahmed is a Lecturer in Finance at Coventry University's School of Economics, Finance and Accounting. He joined the university in January 2019. His research focuses on Fintech (AI), Corporate Finance, Financial Risk Management, Behavioral Finance, and Asset Pricing Models. Ahmed holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Hull (2017), an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Greenwich (2008), and a BSc in Accounting and Finance from Alexandria University.
His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Corporate Financial Management, Financial Theory, Fintech, and Risk Management. He currently supervises three PhD projects in Fintech and Corporate Finance, emphasizing AI, Machine Learning, and big data applications. Ahmed has presented research at the 2023 Financial Management Association (FMA) International Conference in Denmark, focusing on the cost of equity capital and CEO investment horizons.
Research contributions include analyzing corporate hedging strategies' impact on equity costs and firm value. He is affiliated with Coventry University's Centre for Financial and Corporate Integrity (CFCI), collaborating on integrity and governance initiatives in finance.
