Hanwen Sun is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Bath's School of Management, affiliated with the Centre for Governance, Regulation and Industrial Strategy and the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society (CBOS). She holds editorial roles, including on Corporate Governance: An International Review, and serves as an External Examiner for the University of Bristol's MSc in Accounting and Finance. Her research focuses on corporate finance, governance, informed trading, and ESG, with publications in journals like Journal of Corporate Finance and Journal of Empirical Finance. Funded by the British Academy, her work addresses strategic insider trading, trade credit, and sustainable finance.
Teaching interests include corporate finance and empirical finance across undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive programs. She actively supervises PhD students in corporate finance and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through research on ESG and governance.
