Hans Thybo is a Professor of Geophysics at China University of Geosciences (2019–present), Eurasia Institute of Earth Sciences (2017–present) at Istanbul Technical University, and the Center for Earth Evolution and Dynamics (2016–present) at the University of Oslo.

Research Interests focus on Lithosphere dynamics, Seismology, Tectonophysics and Tectonics, and Solid earth geophysics. His work integrates geophysical methods to study Earth's structure and evolution, with emphasis on continental lithosphere processes and seismic imaging.
