Prof. Dr. Hans Neumann is affiliated with the Cluster of Excellence 'Religion and Politics' at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. From 2013 to 2018, he headed the project 'In the Service of the Gods and the King – Political, Economic and Social Interaction in the Area of Cultic-Religious Institutions in Mesopotamia in the Late 3rd and Early 2nd Millennium BC'. His research specializes in the intersection of religious institutions with political and economic systems in ancient Mesopotamia.
