Hans Englund is a Professor of Business Administration at Örebro University, affiliated with the School of Business, Economics and Law. He is a member of CEROC (Centre for Empirical Research on Organizational Control). His research focuses on organizational control systems, performance measurement, and their impacts on identity and creativity in educational and academic contexts. Englund earned his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Gothenburg in 2006 with a thesis on municipal reform and balanced governance. He has held roles as Associate Professor (2011) and Professor (2016) at Örebro University.

Research Interests: Englund’s work examines how control systems shape organizational practices and identities. His current projects explore how performance metrics reshape teachers’ and researchers’ professional identities.
Labs/Teams: Englund is part of CEROC, which investigates organizational control through empirical studies. He also collaborates on projects addressing neoliberalism’s influence in universities and performative technologies in education.
Teaching: Englund teaches financial management, methodology, and management control systems. He has experience in university education across all levels and commissioned training in management accounting.
