Ellen Englund

Ellen Englund is a Research Fellow and PhD student in Digitalisation and Society at Høgskolen i Østfold (HIOF), affiliated with the Faculty of Teacher Education and Languages. Her position combines research and doctoral studies focusing on digitalization's societal impacts. She is based in Halden at office F1-017(2).

Before academia, Englund was a certified language teacher in Sweden, specializing in Swedish as a second language, Spanish instruction in primary and adult education, and drama pedagogy. She holds a Master's degree in Child and Youth Studies from the University of Gothenburg. Her research interests center on teacher education innovations, Nordic context racialization, raciolinguistic ideologies, and digital educational frameworks.

Englund contributes to two research groups: CritTEd (focusing teacher education research) and RIDE (Research in Digital Education). Despite active research involvement, her publications remain unrecorded in Cristin databases as of January 2025. Her work bridges practical teaching experience with critical analyses of educational systems, particularly addressing intersectional identities in Nordic educational contexts.
