Hanno Steen is Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and Principal Investigator at Boston Children's Hospital. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Southern Denmark and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School. His laboratory develops novel mass spectrometry methods for protein modification analysis with emphasis on tyrosine phosphorylation in carcinogenesis.
Research focuses on:
- Proteomic analysis of complex protein mixtures
- Biomarker discovery in pediatric diseases
- Post-translational modification characterization
- Diagnostic and prognostic marker screening
Publications demonstrate expertise in quantitative proteomics and multi-omics approaches, with recent emphasis on COVID-19 immunopathology, neurodegenerative proteomics, and computational method development. Article trends highlight translational applications in virology, neonatology, and precision medicine.
Professional service includes editorial roles and leadership in proteomics consortia. The Steen Laboratory collaborates extensively with clinical researchers to advance diagnostic applications of proteomic technologies.
