Hannes Leitgeb is a full Professor and Alexander von Humboldt Professor at Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, where he chairs Logic and Philosophy of Language and founded the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy. He has held academic positions at the University of Bristol, Stanford University, and the University of Salzburg.
- Education: Dual PhDs in Philosophy and Mathematics from the University of Salzburg (2001, 1998), and an MSc in Mathematics (1997).
- Research Interests: Span Logic, Philosophy of Language, Epistemology, Philosophy of Mathematics, and Cognitive Science. His work bridges formal logic with philosophical inquiry, focusing on belief dynamics, probability, and structural realism.

- 2007 Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award
- 2007 Philip Leverhulme Prize
