Hannah Nguyen is a Research Associate in the Department of Geography at King's College London, affiliated with the Earth Observation and Wildfire Research Group. She holds a MSci in Chemistry from University College London (UCL), an MSc in Non-Equilibrium Systems from King's College London, and completed a study abroad at the National University of Singapore (NUS) during her undergraduate degree.
Her research focuses on leveraging satellite remote sensing and atmospheric modeling to study fire emissions, particularly in African landscapes. Key projects include developing high-resolution fire emissions inventories using geostationary satellite data (e.g., SEVIRI FRP) and integrating these with chemical transport models like WRF-CMAQ. She also investigates the health impacts of wildfire-induced haze in Southeast Asia, such as the 2019 Kalimantan fires.
Hannah’s work bridges remote sensing, environmental chemistry, and public health, with applications in climate science and air quality assessment. She collaborates with the Leverhulme Centre for Wildfires, Environment and Society and contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives like the Earth Observation and Environmental Sensing (EOES) Hub.
