Hannah LeClair is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Ursinus College. She specializes in nineteenth-century literature, focusing on intersections between media, visual culture, and literary form, particularly in the context of landscape and picturesque aesthetics within Victorian realist novels.
- Education: B.A. from Bard College, M.A./Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania
Research Interests encompass Romanticism, Victorian Studies, Environmental Humanities, and Aesthetics/Visual Culture. Her current project examines how landscape and setting in Victorian novels engage with picturesque traditions.
Teaching includes courses on environmental literature (Nature, Writing the Self), world literature (Stories from Home), and interdisciplinary studies (The Common Intellectual Experience).
Publications highlight her work on Gothic aesthetics, Hardy’s visuality, and feminist poetics in Romantic-era texts.
