Hannah Fawcett

Dr Hannah Fawcett is a Senior Lecturer and Undergraduate Psychology Programme Leader at Manchester Metropolitan University's Department of Psychology. She leads the BSc Psychology, BSc Psychology with Counselling and Psychotherapy, and BSc Forensic Psychology programmes, emphasizing forensic psychology with specialties in juror decision making, deception detection, and alibi evidence evaluation. She holds a PhD and multiple academic qualifications including BSc (hons), MSc, PGCE LTHE, and FHEA status.

Teaching & Supervision: Supervises over 1,200 undergraduate students across three BPS-accredited programs. Current PhD supervision includes Katie McMillan (alibi evidence presentation) and Cathy Jones (prison well-being). Completed student Amuda Agneswaran studied Registered Intermediaries' work with intellectually disabled witnesses.

Grants & Consultancy: Secured £9,952 Leverhulme Small Research Grant (2022-2023). Provided expert consultancy to InsideJustice (UK false conviction analysis) and British Transport Police (counter-terrorism training).

Labs & Partnerships: Collaborates with academic partners on forensic psychology applications, emphasizing courtroom evidence visualization and juror cognition studies.
