Dr. Hanna Byrd serves as an Online Instructional Mentor and Assistant Professor of Worship Education at Liberty University’s School of Music. She has taught online courses since 2012 and contributed as a subject matter expert in worship studies. Her doctoral research, which received acclaim, examined the impact of worship lyrics on spiritual growth. She holds a B.S. in Psychology, M.A. in Counseling, a Master’s Certificate in Global Studies, and a D.W.S. in Pastoral Counseling, all from Liberty University.
Dr. Byrd previously performed with Sounds of Liberty, leading worship in over 300 venues across 27 states. She currently serves as a worship leader at Blue Ridge Community Church in Forest, VA. Awards include the 2025 Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching.
