Hanna Almlöf is an Associate Professor and Docent in Commercial and Business Law at Linköping University's Department of Management and Engineering (IEI). She specializes in company law, focusing on governance and ownership issues in closely held and family-owned firms. Her research combines legal analysis with Regulation Theory and Economic perspectives, often in interdisciplinary collaborations.
Almlöf holds a PhD in Commercial Law from Jönköping International Business School (2014) and has served as a Post Doctor, Senior Lecturer, and later Associate Professor at Linköping University since 2016. She is affiliated with the Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership (CeFEO) and contributes to initiatives like the Nordic company law network and the Enterprise Foundation Research Network.
Her research projects include studies on enterprise foundations as long-term owners and ownership dynamics in closely held companies. These projects explore governance structures, sustainable development, and legal frameworks impacting family businesses. She has secured funding from foundations such as the Kamprad Family Foundation and Jan Wallander & Tom Hedelius’ Foundation.
Teaching responsibilities include courses like Advanced Company Law (702A08) and supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses. She is actively involved in curriculum design and student mentorship within the Commercial Law programs.
Almlöf collaborates with institutions like the Ratio Institute and the Stockholm Center for Commercial Law (SCCL). Her work emphasizes bridging legal theory with practical challenges faced by small businesses and family enterprises, advocating for tailored regulatory solutions.
