Hanif Ladak is an Associate Professor at Western University, jointly appointed to the Departments of Medical Biophysics and Electrical & Computer Engineering. He is also affiliated with the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program, the Imaging Research Laboratories at Robarts Research Institute, and the National Centre for Audiology.

His research focuses on auditory biomechanics, virtual reality for surgical training, and medical image processing. Using finite-element modeling and laser Doppler vibrometry, he studies the biomechanics of the middle ear to optimize hearing aids. His surgical simulation work involves real-time anatomical models with haptic interfaces, while his medical imaging research automates model generation for cochlear implants and bone conduction surgery planning.

He is co-director of the Audiovestibular Biomechanics Laboratory (ABL) and collaborates with institutions like Robarts Research Institute and the National Centre for Audiology. His professional roles include President & CEO of ENT Simulation Technologies and editorial responsibilities at the journal SIMULATION.
