Hani Q. Khoury

Dr. Hani Q. Khoury is a Professor of Mathematics at Mercer University's College of Professional Advancement, where he founded the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Informatics and chaired it from 2006 to 2013. Born in Palestine, he immigrated to the U.S. at 18 and earned multiple degrees from Syracuse University: a BA in Mathematics (1987), BS in Computer Science (1987), MS in Computer Science (1989), and PhD in Mathematics Education (1995). His career combines academic leadership with disability advocacy and Middle Eastern peace initiatives.

His research examines the philosophy of mathematics, international educational frameworks, and mathematics' role in political discourse. Secondary interests include adult education pedagogy, student attitudes toward STEM, and equity-focused curriculum design. Recent publications explore social justice themes, including disability rights in war zones and cross-cultural narratives.
