Hani H. Rashid

Hani H. Rashid, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Rochester Medical Center's School of Medicine and Dentistry. He specializes in robotic and laparoscopic surgeries for urologic cancers, with a focus on prostate, kidney, bladder, and adrenal tumors.

• Education: B.A. (Cum Laude) from Cornell University, M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons
• Training: Urology residency at University of Rochester Medical Center (2001-2005), fellowship in endourology at University of Minnesota (2005-2006)

His research focuses on advancing robotic surgical techniques, developing simulation platforms for surgical training, and exploring precision diagnostics for prostate cancer. He has authored 36 journal articles and contributed to multiple book chapters in urology.

Scientific awards include the Gerald P Murphy Fellowship (2006), Unrestricted Yamanouchi Grant (2005), and multiple clinical/research recognition awards (2002-2004). He has taught national robotic surgery courses since 2006.

Rashid has led clinical studies on enhanced recovery protocols (QUICCER 2017), venous thromboembolism prevention in urologic oncology (2015), and robotic repair techniques for post-cystectomy complications (2014).
