Hanan Mohamed Almawla is an Assistant Professor at the University of Bahrain (UoB), specializing in Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Civil Law. She holds a BA from UoB, an MA in IP Law from Manchester University, and a PhD in Intellectual Property from Queen Mary University of London. Since 2015, she is a Certified Associate in Python Programming (PCAP). She serves as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Law, a peer-reviewed biannual journal published by UoB.
Her research focuses on IP Law, Civil Law, and GCC legal systems. Notable works include analyses of parody in GCC copyright laws, insurance mechanisms for protecting IPRs in the Gulf region, and the role of attribution rights in Bahraini law. She is currently finalizing a study on the Advisory Chamber's role in Bahrain's Court of Cassation.
Her academic contributions span international journals such as the International Journal of Intellectual Property and the Arab Law Quarterly, reflecting her expertise in bridging legal theory and regional practice. She actively engages in academic conferences, including the 2017 AUEIRC event in the Emirates.
