Sharmini Lohadhasan

Sharmini Lohadhasan is an academic and legal professional with a focus on Intellectual Property (IP) and compliance. She currently serves as a Lecturer at Sorbonne – Assas International Law School Asia, where she teaches IP Law since 2015. Her role at bp Legal, Singapore, as an Ethics and Compliance Manager, complements her academic work, providing strategic advice on IP risk mitigation and policy advocacy.

Her research interests span Intellectual Property Law, Corporate Compliance, and Asia Pacific Trade, informed by her extensive experience in IP enforcement, licensing, and market entry barriers across China and Asia Pacific. She has held leadership roles in professional organizations, including Chairperson of the European Chamber of Commerce (IPR Committee) and Chairperson of Best Practices, Governance and International Relations Committee at the Asian Lubricants Manufacturers Association.

Sharmini’s career includes postings in bp’s London and Shanghai offices, active involvement in policy discussions with trade associations, and volunteer work with the Riding School for physically challenged children. Her expertise bridges legal practice and academia, emphasizing practical applications of IP law in global business contexts.
