Hana Formánková is a Research Fellow at the Department of the Political System of Germany/Politics in Europe at Leipzig University under Prof. Dr. Astrid Lorenz. She holds dual affiliations with the Research Unit: The German Political System/Politics in Europe and the Institute of Political Science.
Her academic journey includes studies in European Studies and International Relations at Masaryk University (Brno), followed by training at the Czech Diplomatic Academy. She served in the Czech Foreign Service from 2013, working in the Central Europe Department and Berlin embassy (2015-2016) within the German Foreign Office. Since 2017, she has focused on research and teaching at Leipzig University.
Her doctoral research examines transnational regional policy implementation and institutional steering capacity in EU integration, using German-Czech neighborhood policy as a case study. She is affiliated with the Research Academy Leipzig's Graduate School “Global and Area Studies” since 2013.
