Hamish Fernando is a Lecturer at the School of Biomedical Engineering, University of Sydney. His research focuses on obesity treatments, metabolic changes during dietary interventions, and the physiological impacts of weight loss programs. He has led studies on the TEMPO Diet Trial, exploring fast vs. slow weight-loss methods in postmenopausal women, and investigated the effects of Ramadan fasting on non-athlete populations. His work also addresses bone health risks associated with obesity treatments and the role of glycyrrhizic acid in modulating metabolic disorders.
Research Interests: Obesity and metabolic disorders, dietary interventions, clinical trials, bone health, stress-induced metabolic changes, and the application of glycyrrhizic acid in nutritional science.
