Dr. Hamid Uddin is an Associate Professor at the University of Bradford's School of Management, within the Faculty of Management, Law & Social Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from the National University of Singapore and has taught at prestigious institutions including the University of Southampton (Malaysia campus), Taylor's University Malaysia, and the University of Sharjah, UAE. He has held leadership roles such as founding Head of Business at the University of Southampton Malaysia and Director of the Doctoral Programme at Taylor's University Malaysia.
His research focuses on cybersecurity risk and bank stability, corporate governance, Islamic and socially responsible finance, microfinance, and corporate risk-taking. He has published extensively in top journals and serves as an Associate Editor for Studies in Economics and Finance and the International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management. He is an active member of professional organizations like the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), British Academy of Management (BAM), and Financial Management Association (FMA).
Dr. Uddin received the Texas A&M International University's Best Paper Award (2020) and contributed to policy work, including developing Bangladesh's first corporate governance code and advising the World Bank-Dubai Economic Council. His teaching includes modules such as Strategic Management Accounting, International Finance, and Financial Accounting.
