Hamid Pourjalali is a Professor of Accounting and Director of the School of Accountancy at the Shidler College of Business, University of Hawaii at Manoa. He holds the Donald A. Corbin Distinguished Professorship in Accounting and co-chairs the Hawaii Accounting Research Conference and Doctoral Institute.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Accounting, Oklahoma State University (1992)
- MAcc, Modarress University (1986)
- BA in Business with Minor in Computer Science (1983)
Research Focus: His work spans financial, managerial, and international accounting, with emphasis on regulatory impacts (e.g., FAS 166/167, IAS 27), fair value disclosures, investment efficiency, and financial reporting in banking and cross-listed firms.
