Dr. Hamid Etemad is an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University. He holds a PhD, MBA, and MSc from the Haas School of Business and Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, and an MEng from the University of Tehran, Iran.
His research focuses on international marketing, technology management, entrepreneurship, and SME internationalization. He has authored/co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including works on rapid-growth SMEs, internetization, and symbiotic networks. Notable awards include the 2010 ASAC Best Paper Award and recognition as a Fellow of International Entrepreneurship in 2008.
Dr. Etemad teaches courses such as International Marketing Management and Global Marketing Strategy. He has served in leadership roles for the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada and contributed to international initiatives like directing McGill’s linkage with People’s University, Beijing. His work emphasizes globalization’s impact on SMEs and the role of technology in multinational strategies.
