Professor Hallvard Lillehammer is a faculty member at the School of History, Philosophy and Digital Humanities, University of Sheffield. He joined the department in 2025, bringing extensive experience from prior appointments as Professor of Philosophy at Birkbeck, University of London (2013–2024), and teaching roles at Cambridge University (including Fellow of King's College and Senior Research Fellow at Churchill College), King's College London, and Reading University.

His research focuses on critical analysis of foundational concepts in ethical and political philosophy, including:
- Reason and Objectivity
- Impartiality and Autonomy
- Indifference and Responsibility
He teaches modules across ethics, meta-ethics, political philosophy, and aesthetics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently supervising PhD students in ethics, political philosophy, and related fields, his academic work engages deeply with contemporary debates and historical traditions.
