معرفی
Halina Dobrzynski is a Senior Lecturer in Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Manchester, School of Medicine. She holds a visiting professor position at Jagiellonian University's Department of Anatomy (Cracow, Poland) and earned a D.Sc. from Jagiellonian University in 2023. Her research focuses on the macro/micro-anatomy and molecular biology of the cardiac conduction system, particularly the sinoatrial and atrioventricular nodes, using advanced imaging (microCT, AI, VR) and molecular techniques. She has supervised over 20 PhD students and postdocs, with active grants exceeding £7 million from BHF, NIH, and others. Key awards include the 2014 Best Pre-Clinical Teacher award at Manchester.
Education: B.Sc. (1996) and Ph.D. (2000) in Biological/Biomedical Sciences from the University of Leeds. Postdoctoral roles at Leeds, NIH, Washington University, and others.
Research interests emphasize structural-functional relationships in the cardiac conduction system across species (human, rodent, large animals) and conditions (aging, disease, exercise). Key projects include circadian rhythms in pacemaking, microRNA regulation of ion channels, and bio-pacemaker development.
Over 138 publications span cardiac electrophysiology, imaging innovations, and translational cardiology. Active in grant review (BHF, NIH) and editorial roles (Frontiers in Physiology). Public engagement includes science outreach programs for youth and lectures on cardiac physiology.
Teaching/admin roles include Radiation Protection Supervisor, Manchester Gold Mentor, and leadership in medical student education. Grants managed include £2.5M BHF PhD studentships and a £4.6M Leducq Network grant (2019-2024).
