Hale Bolak is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at İstanbul Bilgi University, where she has been a faculty member since 1998. She holds a PhD in Gender & Cross Cultural Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and her academic work spans social, health, and cross-cultural psychology with a strong focus on gender and sexuality.

Her scholarly impact is further reflected in her leadership roles and editorial contributions.
Professor Boratav has received significant recognition, including the 2021 Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Kağıtçbaşı Lifetime Achievement Award in Social Psychology. She is currently the president of the Istanbul Branch of the Turkish Psychological Association and serves on the editorial boards of several national and international journals.
She teaches core courses including Social Psychology (PSY 201 & 202), Gender and Sexuality (PSY 341), and Health Psychology (PSY 484). She has also served as the chair of the Psychology Department for many years, demonstrating strong institutional leadership.
