Hal Cooper is a DPhil Student and Research Manager at the University of Oxford, affiliated with Wolfson College and the Centre for Evidence-Based Intervention. His work focuses on parenting interventions, child development, and educational outcomes, supervised by Professors Jamie Lachman and Frances Gardner. He contributes to the Global Parenting Initiative's project in Malaysia and has prior experience in research and project management across South Africa, the UK, and Sicily.
Research Interests: Hal investigates how parenting practices promote children's early learning, including longitudinal studies on parent-child book-sharing, meta-analyses of parenting interventions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), and hybrid digital-human playful parenting interventions in Malaysia. His work aligns with themes in Child and Family Welfare and Violence Prevention.

Projects: Hal manages the "Parenting within the preschool system in Malaysia" project, a multisite randomized trial optimizing scalable parenting interventions for low-income families. He has worked on research in South Africa, the UK, and as a Project Manager for an NGO in Sicily supporting migrants and refugees.
