Hakan Yilmaz serves as an Adjunct Lecturer across multiple institutions within the City University of New York system. He teaches Sociology at Baruch College, Labor Studies at CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies, and Economics at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Currently a PhD candidate in Sociology at the Graduate Center, his academic work focuses on the intersection of education systems and labor movements.
Dr. Yilmaz's research interests span Labor & Union Issues, Racial & Social Justice, and Public Education systems. His dissertation specifically examines public education and teacher unions in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles since 1960, demonstrating a longitudinal approach to understanding how educational institutions and labor organizations have evolved together throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
