Kevin Cassidy

Kevin Cassidy serves as an Adjunct Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York (CUNY), where he has lectured since 1992 in the Security Management Program across undergraduate and graduate curricula. His professional background includes serving as Director of Public Safety at John Jay College and Vice President of Global Security for Thomson Reuters, overseeing security operations for 600+ offices spanning 18 million square feet and 55,000 employees worldwide.

He holds both an MA and BS in Criminal Justice Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and maintains active licensure as a private investigator in New York, New Jersey, and Florida.

Professor Cassidy's expertise centers on high-stakes security and emergency response domains, with primary research interests including Active Shooter protocols, Disaster & Emergency Response systems, Labor & Union conflict resolution, New York historical contexts, School Shootings prevention frameworks, and Terrorism & Violent Extremism countermeasures. His applied work extends to Security Management, Emergency Management planning, Business Continuity systems, Fire Safety protocols, and investigative methodologies, as demonstrated in his book Loss Prevention and Fire Safety and numerous professional articles.
