Dr. Hai Chen Tan is an Associate Professor and Associate Director of Learning and Teaching at the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society (EGIS) at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. He has held leadership roles such as Programme Director for Construction Project Management and Quantity Surveying, and contributed to accreditations by BQSM and MQA. His academic journey includes a PhD and MSc from Loughborough University, UK, and prior roles as a Research Associate and at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). His research focuses on construction technology, BIM, contract administration systems, and sustainable development. He has led multiple funded projects, including the development of web-based systems for contract administration and claims management. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), he is also a council member of CIOB Malaysia.
