Hadi Banat

Hadi Banat is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at UMass Boston. His research and professional contributions focus on transnational curriculum design, intercultural learning, and the role of English in global contexts. He is actively involved in collaborative research projects such as the Corpus and Repository of Writing and the Transculturation Pedagogical Research Group.

• Education: PhD and MA in English from Purdue University and American University of Beirut, respectively.

Banat’s research bridges Writing Studies, TESOL, and pedagogical assessment, with a particular emphasis on curriculum development, grant writing, and ethical considerations in academic practices. His work explores intercultural competence, language policy, and identity negotiation in educational settings.
