Parva Panahi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Writing, Literature, and Language at Metro State University. She teaches courses in academic writing and research, and brings a global perspective from teaching experiences both within and outside the United States.
Education
- Doctorate in English, Purdue University, with primary specialization in Second Language Studies and secondary specialization in Composition and Rhetoric.
Her research in Writing Studies focuses on multilingual writing, writing program administration, and writing teacher education. She explores the integration of emerging technologies to develop 21st century competencies in undergraduate writing education, with a particular emphasis on fostering intercultural competence through reflective writing and innovative curriculum design.
Parva's recent publications demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing knowledge in writing program development and multilingual writing instruction. Her collaborative work addresses critical issues such as transnational curriculum design, intercultural learning in first-year writing, and preparing graduate teaching assistants for diverse classrooms.
With extensive experience mentoring students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, Parva contributes to the academic community through conference presentations and publications in respected journals including Written Communication, TESOL Journal, and Writing & Pedagogy. Her scholarship, published by leading academic presses, reflects a dedication to equitable and effective writing education for all learners.
