Prof. dr. H.G.E. (Els) Rose is a Professor of Late and Medieval Latin at Utrecht University's Department of Languages, Literature and Communication, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities. She serves as Director of Research at the Humanities Institute for Cultural Inquiry and specializes in medieval Latin, liturgy, and Christian apocryphal literature. Her work bridges philology, literature, and history, focusing on citizenship discourses in Western Europe (400–1100) and the Latin religious heritage.
