GİZEM BURCU KARAALI

GİZEM BURCU KARAALI is a Lecturer at the Department of Management and Labor Sociology, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University. She has held the position of Research Assistant since 2017 and concurrently serves as a Doctor Lecturer. Her work focuses on disadvantaged groups, sociology of work, and social policy. She actively contributes to academic publications and conferences.

Research Interests: Her research spans gender disparities in employment, the sociology of labor markets, social policy frameworks, and the impact of globalizing processes on labor dynamics. She employs qualitative methods to explore issues such as unemployment among educated women, pandemic-era employment challenges, and active aging policies.

Academic Contributions: She has authored/co-authored 6 book chapters, 5 conference papers, and 2 articles. Notable works include chapters in SOCIAL SCIENCES RESEARCHES IN THE GLOBALIZING WORLD (2018) and THE FUTURE OF WORKING LIFE (2020). Her research also addresses cyberbullying perceptions among youth and age discrimination during the pandemic.

Editorships: She edited the 10TH INTERNATIONAL NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS CONGRESS PROCEEDINGS BOOK (2019) and co-edited the 22nd LABOR ECONOMICS AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS CONGRESS ABSTRACTS (2023).
