Dr. Gülşen Arslan Atay is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Midwifery at Ahi Evran University's Faculty of Health Sciences since 2015. She holds a PhD in Forensic Sciences from Ankara University, a Master's in Embryology from Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, and a Bachelor's in Emergency Aid and Disaster Management from Istanbul University.
- Education:
- BSc: Emergency Aid & Disaster Management, Istanbul University Faculty of Health Sciences
- MSc: Embryology, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Health Sciences
- PhD: Forensic Sciences, Ankara University Faculty of Health Sciences
Her research focuses on reproductive biology, lipid metabolism, and molecular mechanisms in diabetes. Current projects investigate lipid biosensors, thrombosis in pediatric populations, and molecular pathways in inflammatory disorders.
Recent work includes studies on PPARγ and TGF-β1 expressions in type 2 diabetic rats, BMP2/BMP4 expression in Eurycoma longifolia, and platelet membrane lipid changes in neonatal coagulation disorders. These projects demonstrate her expertise in molecular biology and clinical applications.
She collaborates with researchers at Gaziosmanpaşa University, including Ahmet Eyibilen and Sevil Cayli, on topics related to matrix metalloproteinases and inflammatory signaling pathways. Her 2021 book Lösemi ve Trombozda Farklı Yaklaşımlar ve Yeni Tedaviler addresses leukemia and thrombosis mechanisms.
Active in scientific missions and project leadership, Dr. Arslan Atay currently directs six institutionally funded research projects spanning lipid biosensors, thrombosis in obesity/anemia, and molecular genetics applications in midwifery.
