Gönül Şengül

Gönül Şengül is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Ozyegin University's Faculty of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master's degree from Sabanci University, and a Bachelor's in Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.

Research Interests

Her research focuses on macroeconomics and labor economics, with particular emphasis on:

• Female employment and gender disparities in labor markets
• Unemployment dynamics and flows
• Search and matching models
• Labor market policies and firm recruitment behavior
• Structural transformation and sectoral employment shifts
• Economic forecasting using big data and digital signals
