Gurch Randhawa

Gurch Randhawa is Professor of Diversity in Public Health and Director of the Institute for Health Research at the University of Bedfordshire. He holds extensive leadership roles including Non-Executive Director positions at Hertfordshire & West Essex Integrated Care Board and Forestry England.

His research examines health inequalities, organ donation disparities, and COVID-19 impacts on ethnic minorities. Professor Randhawa developed the seminal Faith Engagement & Organ Donation Action Plan commissioned by NHS Blood and Transplant, used internationally as a blueprint for equity in transplantation systems.

Current projects include investigating air pollution impacts on children's respiratory health (£20,000 UKRI funding) and community-based approaches to reduce COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy. His publication record demonstrates strong focus on equitable healthcare access and culturally competent interventions.
