Louise Samouelle serves as a Lecturer Practitioner at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) within the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care. An experienced paramedic and manager, she concurrently maintains clinical practice in Emergency Medicine and Minor Injuries while contributing to ARU's academic programs since 2023.
Her educational qualifications include:
- BSc Paramedic Science with Emergency Practice from the University of Hertfordshire
- MSc Paramedic Science from the University of Hertfordshire
- RCUK Instructor certification in Advanced Life Support
Her research centers on paramedic resilience, examining psychological and operational stressors in emergency medical services through the lens of her frontline experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work directly informs her clinical leadership approach and teaching methodology, emphasizing real-world crisis management and staff wellbeing.
Louise holds professional memberships with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and the College of Paramedics, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based practice standards in emergency care.
She actively mentors through clinical teaching rather than formal student supervision, delivering Advance Life Support courses and BSc Paramedic Science instruction. Her operational leadership includes establishing the Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust's COVID-19 Vaccination Service, where she managed cross-functional teams during the pandemic rollout.
Current initiatives include integrating her recently completed Non-medical Independent Prescriber’s qualification into advanced practitioner training, enhancing ARU's clinical education capabilities while maintaining active minor injuries unit practice.
