معرفی
Gunnar Schulte is a Professor in receptor pharmacology and the leader of the Receptor Biology and Signaling Lab at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Karolinska Institutet. His research focuses on Frizzled receptors, WNT signaling pathways, and drug development targeting these systems. He holds a Diploma in biochemistry from the Free University of Berlin and a PhD in molecular pharmacology from Karolinska Institutet. His postdoctoral training included molecular neurobiology at Karolinska and GPCR pharmacology at Monash University.
Key roles:
- Professor of Receptor Pharmacology
- Editorial board member for Molecular Pharmacology, British Journal of Pharmacology, and others
- Scientific Secretary of the Swedish Society for Medical Research (SSMF)
Research Interests:
His lab investigates Frizzled signaling mechanisms, receptor dynamics, and drug design to target cancer and other diseases. Key areas include WNT-Frizzled interactions, GPCR pharmacology, and structural biology.
Grants and Funding:
Recent grants include support from the Swedish Cancer Society, Novo Nordisk Foundation, and Swedish Research Council for projects on Frizzled pharmacology, WNT signaling, and anticancer therapies.
Labs and Teams:
He leads the Schulte Lab, collaborating with teams like Paweł Kozielewicz's Molecular Pharmacology of GPCRs group. The lab develops biosensors and structural tools to study receptor activation and signaling.
