Guido Rebecchini is a Professor of Sixteenth-Century Southern European Art at The Courtauld Institute of Art. He holds a PhD from the Warburg Institute and has taught at institutions including New York University and Syracuse University. Currently, he serves as Head of Research Degrees and previously as Associate Dean for Students (2019–2021).

Research Interests: Focuses on Mantuan court culture, Medici Florence, and papal Rome under Paul III. Explores topics like Giulio Romano’s design practices, Medici dynastic narratives, and urban renewal post-1527 Sack of Rome. Leading a major exhibition on the 1527 Sack for 2027.
Teaching: Co-teaches MA modules on the Italian Renaissance (Masaccio to Michelangelo) and supervises PhD students in Renaissance art and patronage.
Grants & Projects: Active in exhibition curation (e.g., Giulio Romano retrospectives) and international scholarly collaborations. Recent projects include studies on Medici inheritance and Paul III’s urban policies.
Upcoming Work: A major 2027 exhibition in Rome on the Sack of 1527, re-examining its cultural and political aftermath.
