Guido Falkemeier

Guido Falkemeier is a Professor at the Department of Media Production, OWL University of Applied Sciences, and the current Director of KreativInstitut.OWL since 2021. He has played a pivotal role in establishing the Detmold Creative Campus as a hub for innovation, relocating and expanding the Media Production Department, and fostering collaboration between science, culture, and business.

• Education: Doctorate in Computer Science (1993, Clausthal University of Technology) and Applied Computer Science (Thesis: Parallelization of the JPEG image compression standard).

His research focuses on digital media production, augmented reality, AI-driven creative projects, and digital humanities. He has pioneered projects like "Hermann meets AI," "Digital Media Production in Real-Time Rendering Environments," and the sonification of data for cultural applications. His work intersects cutting-edge technology with artistic expression.

Guido has supervised numerous student theses on topics including AR advertising, deepfake pornography, NFT projects, and real-time rendering for filmmaking. His leadership roles include Dean of Media Production (2006–2016) and Chairman of Kreativ Campus Detmold e.V. since 2018.

• Scientific Award: Unicum Foundation's Professor of the Year (2016–2023).

He actively engages in interdisciplinary initiatives such as the Center for Sustainable Digital Construction (ZNDB) and the Electric Car Express (ECE) project, blending digital innovation with practical applications in craftsmanship and mobility.
